The Circus Leader

Hi, Let me introduce myself, Im Dana, co-owner of Party and Be Married. I figured that I would tell you a bit about myself.

It all started back in…. Just kidding, let’s fast forward to the important stuff.

I started my career in banking 😳😳, yes banking. I know it seems like a bit of a stretch but bare with me here. I come from a family of bankers (all of us female). I loved working with customers, I loved thinking on my feet, I loved solving problems and leading my staff but I had this creative side that I wanted to stretch. I can remember sitting down one night and announcing to one of my friends that my dream job would be to plan events and parties for other people, you know, I want a birthday party for X and here’s my budget of X now GO…back then (I’m dating myself) there was not really a job title for this. The bank I worked for would always have events, team building, family picnics, recognition rallies and I would love to organize these events. Joann, another of Party and Be Married’s partners, also worked at the bank and also loved organizing the events. It became a “thing” for them to “let us” organize the events. Fast forward several years, customer service was no longer the number 1 priority so Joann and I sought to strike out and do what we loved. By now I had had two kids, and my oldest Dominique had just graduated from design school, so she joined us in our endeavor. Party and Be Married was born and we have never looked back.

All those years, all those people, all that time working in customer service and solving problems, all that paperwork and working with other peoples money have only helped to enhance our skill set. Staying calm, organizing and creating timelines is really my thing.

On a personal note, Ive been married to the love of my life for 37 years, I have two kids and their spouses plus a couple of others I claim as my own and I have two grandsons, my love bugs. Every Sunday we gather for dinner together like all good Italian families do and we connect with each other.

Thats why they call me the leader of the Circus…all in all its a great life, I wouldn’t trade for anything.

Remember the purpose of your event, when you feel overwhelmed or stressed about it, remember why you are having this event and let that bring you joy.
