So What Does A Planner Do?

Making sure your details look exactly as you want them

Making sure your details look exactly as you want them

It is truly difficult to see the advantage of a planner before you hire one.  What we have to offer is not tangible, you can’t touch it or see it.  It is peace of mind and the freedom for you to enjoy the planning process as well as your big day.  It is the ability for your parents, bridal party and friends to be fully present at your wedding instead of helping to set up, tear down, find the DJ who seems to be missing, cue the photographers and so many more things that no one thinks about until you are in the middle of the wedding.

We start the planning process with you from the day we are hired (as I said before in a previous blog, check it out to find out why).  Depending on where you are in your process when your planner is hired, they can help with your vision, design work, finding and hiring vendors, negotiating contracts, helping with site visits, helping to run interference with pretty much anyone and the list goes on.   Your planner will check in all your vendors when they arrive and help find them when they are late. They will also be with you as you walk down the aisle to make sure everyone is in place and on time while making sure you look amazing for your walk down the aisle.

The icing on the cake is the ever loved timeline.  We take the creation of this timeline very seriously.  We work on it with the couple, create the document after covering their wishes, their wants and their needs.  We make sure that document encompasses everything that will be needed that day from mini schedules covering hair and makeup, to who will be transporting your belongings at the end of the night.  Your timeline is the document everyone works from but we tell our couples it is written in pencil.  If the couple would like change something it is our job to make that happen and let everyone involved know.

I will also tell you that something “goes wrong” at every wedding, with the many moving parts and people involved, it is almost impossible to have everything go off perfectly…out job is to make sure that we solve the problem so that you and your guests never know.

Do yourself a huge favor and interview a planner.  Make sure that your personalities click, that the planner hears you and is on board with your vision, and that they are willing to do what you need hem to do.  Then hire them…you can thank me later

Happy Planning
